Justin joined the company in 1994 and in 1997 became an Associate Director.  In 1999 Justin became a Director of Langley Byers Bennett.

EXPERTISE:

Valuation and the negotiation of matters relating to the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 (collective enfranchisement/buying of the freehold of blocks of flats and lease extensions of flats) and Leasehold Reform Act 1967 (enfranchisement/buying of freeholds of houses).

OTHER EXPERIENCE:

  • Investment, Market and Mortgage/Secure Lending valuations, and “Qualified Surveyor” Reports under the Charities Act 1993. Advising a number of Social Landlords, Housing Associations, NHS Trusts and Charities, including Museums. This has led to a number of recent portfolio valuations for internal review within organisations, financial statements and as expert evidence matrimonial proceedings.
  • Landlord and Tenant Act matters including rent reviews and lease renewals of both commercial and residential properties, for private individuals and institutions: Including the rent review of a 120,000 sqft; 1906, former railway carriage works on the South Coast on behalf of the landlord, which was the subject of the leading Landlord and Tenant case, Denis & Robinson Ltd v Kiossos Establishment (1987) 54 P&CR 282, prior to negotiating the sale of the property to the tenants, in the last year of their lease.
  • Property Management, building and service charge advice.
  • Expert Evidence in Litigation and Arbitration.
